This verse is hard for me. The first time I read it, it kinda made me angry because I don't believe God would hurt us. I find it difficult to read the old testament sometimes because the God of the old testament seems so different. I know they are one in the same but God does not change. I think our understanding of God has changed over the years, grown deeper. We can understand his love more maybe. I don't know for sure, but this does challenge me, it makes me think. So, thank you for this.
