Proverbs 16:32
Better a patient man than a warrior, a man who controls his temper than one who takes a city.

I think that this verse tells us to choose a path of love. Being like Jesus is sometimes being more intentional with our actions and reactions, not taking the route of violence and anger when it comes to conflict or difficult situations. Sometimes it can be hard to take a step back in the moment and not react violently or with frustration in our hearts, but its SOOO important. I have reacted based on my first instincts before and I almost always regret what I say or do in those situations, so I really try and bring it back to what Jesus would want me to do, it not always easy though.
I think this verse is in the Bible because its counter cultural. Society tells us it's better to be a warrior. Also, we dont like to wait or be patient.
